Hiya, gang! Got lots of stuff to cover here so please bear with me. And…here we… go!

MEMBERSHIP:
$30 per year (prorated to $15 at end of june).
payments must be made in person at one of our Thursday meetings or the next 1st Sunday ride to our treasurer Erica.

Each member will need to fill out a form with the following info:
-full name*
-address*
-contact phone number*
-valid email address*
-online contact info (website url, blog, twitter, facebook, etc.)
-what kind of scooter they own*
-do you have a nickname for yourself and/or your scooter?
-picture of member with or w/o scooter
*required
We will be setting up a members page on our website including our members, nicknames and scooters. All personal info (address, phone, email, etc.) is for club officer use only and will not be published.

MEMBERSHIP HAS ITS PRIVILEGES!
What privileges you may ask? For starters:
-small 7 Hills Club patch - will be based on the large patch (possibly less colors and specific design elements. yet to be determined) Opportunity to purchase extra patches at a low cost for all of your riding jackets.
-optional large back patch for $90 (a separate cost from membership dues). Pricy, sure, but have you seen it?!?! It is stitched heaven and rocks the socks off of any other clubs’ patches!
-annual membership sticker - this gives you special access to club perks such as beverage discounts at Thursday meeting and free food/drink at select club events such as the scoot in movie and others also to be determined.
-information on regular and last minute rides - riding a scooter is fun but it’s more fun to ride with others! everyone expects the first Sunday ride but we’re planning on being pretty spontaneous this year so you’ll never know when a ride will pop out of no where! best to keep informed!
-Also, very important, members have the opportunity to decide what we do as a club and elect officers. Remember this is YOUR CLUB. Officers are here as facilitators (well, also only occasionally dictators) and are always open to ideas and suggestions. Is there something you want us to do as a club? Let us know and if it is feasible, we’re in!
-We are currently weighing other options for member benefits and some may depend on how many pledges we get. The more members, the more perks!

ANNUAL EVENTS 2010 (THAT WE KNOW OF AT THE PRESENT):
Rally! - Dogwood Classic Rally - our spring rally! prepare to go camping in Stanardsville (googlemap it!) in the VA foothills. Fun time with obstacle course, fast race, slow race, fast ride, slow ride, and possibly a DJ party and some fun trail riding action! More definite plans to come! Inflatable Sumo-suit Wrestling anyone?! :)
Rally! - Indian Summer Rally - our fall rally! Our annual celebration of Richmond! Hit some of the best local rides, eateries and events the city has to offer. Duckpin Bowling anyone?! Yes!
1st Sunday Rides - Every 1st Sunday, we meet at Crossroads in the Fan (Floyd and… Morris?) for some coffee, breakfast and head out to enjoy the open road.
Scoot-in Movies - every third Friday of the month (once weather warms a bit) we plan to host a scoot-in movie in the parking lot of Scoot Richmond. Beer for members, BYOB for everyone else!
Tacky Lights Ride - nothing says fun like a cold winter night ride to see which Richmonders like to give the power company a holiday bonus! It will fill you ’til bursting with holiday cheer!
Some of the other events we are considering for 2010 is hitting the drive-in movie theater in Goochland, G-force Karts and travel to other rallies (FYBO **Feb 15-17**, Scootergate, etc.). Again, any and all ideas are welcome and will be seriously considered.

Think that’s enough to melt your brain for this current digest. Until next time, safe scooting everyone!

Happy Christmahanukwanzaakah everyone..
